Within the frame of Social Actions, we carried out this initiative with a group of male
residents in the
Punta Arenas penitentiary.
They are taught the art of spinning and yarn beside the work with Magallanic wool, breaking
down gender
paradigms and accompanying these inmates with a specialized team of people that listens
and assists
both personal and labor development allowing them to create an income that will benefit
their families
by offering those same products in our store.
Hilando Libertad products are made by esidents inside the Punta Arenas prison, and put on the market by Patagonia Hecha a Mano who supports them with training, materials, management and marketing networks.

Hace algunos años comenzamos una alianza estratégica con Gendarmería de Chile para apoyar y participar en la reinserción laboral de hombres de todas las edades que se encuentran privados de libertad en la ciudad de Punta Arenas.
Para los internos ha significado la posibilidad de aprender un oficio y generar ingresos para aportar al sustento familiar, proyectar su reinserción laboral, y concretar una verdadera segunda oportunidad en la vida. Para nosotros constituye un trabajo con sentido, con impacto social, que nos permite ofrecer productos de alta calidad, con diseños modernos y hechos a mano.
